For us, this means offering our customers a first-class, locally sourced product that is manufactured in an environmentally friendly way and designed for a long lifespan.
Durable
The BiberBox is a product that customers will enjoy for a long time !
Because acting responsibly towards our environment primarily means taking a stand against the current consumerist and throwaway society and actively contributing to waste reduction. High-quality workmanship, simple construction, and durable materials are our top priorities and are what distinguish the BiberBox. Robust fittings and dimensionally stable multiplex wood panels guarantee a long lifespan. You won't find any wear parts or weak points in the components. With proper care, there is no limit to the lifespan of the BiberBox.
Resistant
The BiberBox is not an exhibition piece!
It's a practical item designed to be a reliable companion for nature lovers and campers. We therefore opted for 18mm thick wooden panels that can support even the heaviest users and easily withstand rough handling. To protect against moisture, the panels are either fully lacquered or coated with a phenyl resin. This makes the BiberBox resistant to mildew and unsightly swelling. However, standing water or prolonged exposure to moisture should be strictly avoided. The fittings and magnetic closures are integrated into the wood, thus eliminating any points of attack for scratches or jamming.
Apart from the two polyurethane straps, which are a necessary compromise for the box's safety in the vehicle, only natural raw materials and no plastic are used in its production. If the BiberBox ever becomes obsolete and needs to be disposed of, it certainly won't take 1000 years for fertile humus to form. This aspect was also taken into account when selecting the necessary transport and shipping materials. The BiberBox is delivered to the customer in a bag made of heavy, natural cotton and a cardboard shipping box.
Regional and local
The BiberBox likes short distances!
This has several advantages. CO2 emissions caused by transport are reduced, the local economy is supported, and the product's origin is traceable. This fundamental principle formed the basis for the supply chain, which focuses on Central Germany. It begins with the production of the BiberBox in a family-run carpentry workshop and extends to the design and production of the shipping boxes in a small packaging factory. Even the sewing is done in a local tailor shop. The BiberBox is, in effect, 100% made in Germany.
